As with fitting a curtain pole one of the
most important considerations is to ensure that the fixings that you use will be
strong enough to take the weight and strain of any tracks you choose to fit.
For tips on which type of
fixings to use and how to use them visit our page on

For corded curtain tracks it is essential
that you ensure that you have secure fixings at the ends of the tracks where you
will pull down on the cord putting the greatest stain on any fixings. If the end
fixings are not secure then it is easy to pull the first fixing away from the
wall and then all the other fixing will follow suit like toppling dominos !
If possible we would recommend that you place a couple of brackets at the ends
of corded tracks, one right at the end and another about 150mm or 6" further
along.
With either corded or uncorded curtain
tracks the weight of the curtains is placed at the end of the rail where the
weight of the curtains hang when they are open. I'm sure we have stressed this
point enough.
