It is often necessary to cut Curtain Poles
down to size. Poles which are longer than 2m normally come in two pieces and
unless you have a specific need to have two poles of different lengths joined in
an offset position then it is essential that you cut the same amount off each
pole to ensure a central join. This is common sense but it is surprising how
often people measure, get the length the need and subtract this from the total
length and then cut this amount of one pole only leaving the job lop sided. Also
you will not want gliders or rings to slide over a join where they can easily
snag leading to premature wearing of both pole and curtains.
The old adage of measure twice and cut
once is also one to bear in mind.
